Why do evil occur

 Why do evil occur?

There was a statement of Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of Bill Graham the greatest evangelist of all time.

She said, after the 9/11 attack on US soil, that God abandoned Americans because of their attitude towards transgender rights, evolution and the separation of church and state.

She also said “What I see in the nation of America right now, just the chaos on every level.

“There is silliness, there is craziness, there’s the most illogical rulings. The one in North Carolina on HB2, which is to protect our children in bathrooms and locker rooms, has become something where the justice department is suing us for something that’s just common sense.

“To me it’s evidence that God has backed away.”

She said if Americans repent, God "would begin to reveal the plots of terrorists before they are carried out, even the weather patterns he can control and protect us from violent storms". Adapt from Independent.co.uk.

Boy, is she right! back to the Bible days when the church (Temple) and the state (Government) of Israel where co joined, inseparable, the nation experienced some kind of divine security. Intelligence gathering where from above, by divine revelation.

The Prophets of God where like the 'CIA.' Major events don't just happen without being revealed forehand.

When the church and the government splits more especially in a Christian society or in any society there are several consequences.

The Bible made us to know that God is the governor of the nations forever...Psalms 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations. Inseparable!

For there to be national peace the must be an alliance with the body of Christ the church as it were.

Ezekiel the Prophet was in dilemma in the text below. He wondered how God could be involved in the destruction of his people.

But this was made known to him in a vision where an instruction was given to those who had the charge of the city to move in immediately and commence the tearing down, burning and killing of God's people in God's own land.

This did not go unnoticed by the man of God Ezekiel as God gave him the reason - which was that the iniquity, the sins, the transgressions of Israel and Judah had gone over the roof and that the land was full of blood.

How could anyone predict that this invasion was from God and that He was the commander of this battle. If such a person had not been a close ally to Him (God).

And more annoying of all times is that the people refuse to acknowledge the existence of God, they claim He abandoned the earth and that He (God) 'seeth not.'

Notice here that off course God would not destroy the righteous with the unrighteousness because even in that city a part of those who knew the Lord and fear him were saved.

Infact, they were marked out beforehand to be protected from the destruction.

Ezekiel 9:1-11;

Ezekiel 9:1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

9:2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

 9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

9:5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

9:6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

9:7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

9:8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon. Continue with vs 9-11.

Can humans be precise about evil occurrence?

We, offcourse, as humans, can't be definitive about why God allows certain th to happen both to the righteous and the unrighteous; but surely, mankind has ignored God for so long a time, acting as if God no longer exist.

We believe more on what science tells us what the world tells us and we believe mankind can actually solve mans problems but oh no once again.

That can only happen if all things done were just physical, but 99% of things done globally are spiritual concluded, first, before it is carried out in the physical realm.

In summary, we need Jesus now more than ever. Governments at all level, need to factor in the presence of God through the church, in all their dealing with the state. We need to go back to the days of national Prophets.

Individual Effects.

If that seems not to be possible, well as believers, we must keep denouncing the evil in our days, weep and pray over our cities for God's mercy and help.

Like the Psalmist says pray for the peace of Jerusalem for in his peace you would have peace.

Psalms 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

And surely we will not be consumed with the evil in this world.

From your brother,

Ahamba Chimuanya.

God bless you.
